'Information' 또는 'informations' – 영어에서 단수 또는 복수?

영어 학습자들 사이에서 가장 흔한 실수 중 하나입니다. 독일어에서는 "Informationen" 또는 프랑스어에서는 "informations"라고 말하는 것이 잘못된 것이 아니며, 이는 "information"의 복수형입니다. 그러나 영어에서는 이 단어가 셀 수 없는 명사, 즉 복수형이 없습니다. 단수형이 다른 언어에서 "informations"와 같은 생각을 표현합니다:
I don't have enough information.
I don't have enough informations.
"information"의 셀 수 없음은 또한 "an information"이라고 말할 수 없다는 것을 의미합니다. "information"의 한 단위를 말하고 싶다면 "a piece of information"이라는 표현을 사용할 수 있습니다.
