「Information」か「informations」か―英語で単数形か複数形か？

これは英語学習者の間で最も一般的な間違いの一つです。ドイツ語では「Informationen」やフランス語では「informations」と言っても問題ありませんが、これらは「information」の複数形です。しかし、英語ではこの単語は不可算名詞であり、複数形がありません。単数形が他の言語での「informations」と同じ考えを表します：
I don't have enough information.
I don't have enough informations.
「information」の不可算性は、「an information」と言えないことも意味します。「information」の一つの単位について話したい場合は、「a piece of information」という表現を使うことができます。
That's an interesting piece of information.
That's interesting information. (notice no "an")
That's an interesting information.
そしてもちろん、informationは単数形の名詞なので、その後には単数形の動詞（例えば「is」、「does」、「has」）を使います：
The information is not correct.
The information are not correct.
