2 Types of real-estate properties

This section covers different kinds of properties commonly found in real estate.

single-family home – a standalone residential building meant for one family.

condominium or condo (informal) – an individual unit within a multi-unit building, with shared facilities.

townhouse – a multi-floor home sharing one or more walls with adjacent properties.

duplex – a building divided into two separate living units.

triplex – a building divided into three separate living units.

apartment or flat (in the UK) – a rented unit within a residential building.

duplex apartment or simply duplex – an apartment spread over two floors connected by an internal staircase.

houseboat – a boat that has been designed or modified to be used primarily as a home.

yurt – a circular tent of felt or skins on a collapsible framework, used by nomads.
