1. a description of a series of events that are either true or imagined

2. a false statement or tale, often intended to deceive
   When I found the stolen document on his desk, he invented a story about it accidentally falling there.
3. a sequence of images or videos shared by a user on social media, usually disappearing after a set time
   She posted a series of funny clips from her beach day on her Instagram Stories, but they'll disappear after 24 hours.
4. (chiefly US) A level or floor of a building
   The apartment I rented was on the third story, offering a great view of the city park below.
